WALHALLA — Dream Team Productions held its annual Miss Summerfest Pageant on July 25 at Walhalla Middle School.
Division winners crowned in different age groups included Alyssa Scott – Baby Miss Dream Team Summerfest; Brilee Eller – Tiny Miss Dream Team Summerfest; Brooke Wylie – Mini Miss Dream Team Summerfest; Madalynn Hawkins – Little Miss Dream Team Summerfest; Isabella Covington –Young Miss Dream Team Summerfest; and Faith Marcengill — Teen Miss Dream Team Summerfest.
Overall Division Winners, who won a $100 cash prize each, were Brenna Ruffner – Overall Mini Miss Dream Team Summerfest; Tessa Backman — Overall Young Miss Dream Team Summerfest and Overall Photogenic winner; and Taylor Batson — Overall Teen Miss Dream Team Oktoberfest.
In addition to these winners, Miss Dream Team Summerfest Community Spirit was crowned. All contestants were challenged to collect a dollar per signature, and all proceeds went to the Lachlan McIntosh Tannery Foundation, created to support children diagnosed with JMML, a rare disease that accounts for 1 percent to 2 percent of childhood leukemia cases each year.
After a long battle with JMML, Lachlan passed away on May 7. The foundation was formed with the simple desire to bring hope to others. Its mission is to stand behind growing the donor registry for Be The Match and provide support and aid for other specific opportunities and needs related to childhood cancers and leukemia.
Brooke Wylie, Madalynn Hawkins, Rachel Falter and Faith Marcengill met the challenge and a check for $1,075 was presented to The Lachlan McIntosh Tannery Foundation. The Community Spirit winner who collected the most funds for the cause was Isabella Covington.
