PENDLETON — The Pendleton Historic Foundation invites fearless explorers, haunt enthusiasts, and the curious to “Ghosts of Pendleton” on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24 at Ashtabula and on the Oct. 30 and Oct. 31 at Woodburn from 7-10 pm. These Historic House BOO-seums are not only rich in history, but provide a spooky backdrop in the cool evening breeze beneath twilight’s eerie autumn clouds.

Your journey begins with a narrow, creepy, winding road leading up to 190-year-old antebellum plantation houses where you will follow a candlelight tour and listen to hair-raising ghost stories under the cloak of darkness. Intrepid visitors are encouraged to bring their flashlights.

Ghost tours will start each evening at 7 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:15 p.m., 9 p.m., and 9:15 p.m. with small groups of 18, and costumes are encouraged. Pre-paid reservations are not required, but are strongly suggested to secure a choice of tour time. The cost is $10 per person and tickets can be purchased through www.pendletonhistoricfoundation.org. Tickets are non-refundable. For more information call 864-646-7249.
