EASLEY — Christine Wyatt has been named the general manager and media director for The Easley Progress, The Pickens Sentinel and Powdersville Post.

Wyatt was named to her new position by Ralph J. Martin, CEO of Civitas Media, and Kent Kilpatrick, Regional Director of Civitas Media’s Carolinas Region.

“I am pleased to have Christine overseeing our newspaper operations in Easley, Pickens and Powdersville as general manager. Her experience at the newspapers and involvement in these communities will help the publications to better serve our customers,” Kilpatrick said. “The news and events of our communities are very important to everyone. The Easley Progress, The Pickens Sentinel and Powdersville Post are their diary. We take this responsibility very seriously.”

After relocating with her family to the Pickens County area in 2009 from the coast of North Carolina, Wyatt began working as a sales representative for The Pickens Sentinel, the Powdersville Post and The Easley Progress. She was named Advertising Sales Manager for all three properties in 2012.

“I’m very excited about this new opportunity and appreciate the support I am receiving from Civitas Media on making these papers the best in the area,” Wyatt said. “The team that I have the pleasure of working with is top notch and all are here to serve the Pickens County and Powdersville areas in all areas.”

Kilpatrick said the pages of The Progress, The Sentinel and Post will improvements coming that will add to the already local content.

“Our goal is to bring all of these publications back to covering the important events of each unique community, while also providing the larger regional news as well,” Kilpatrick said. “This is what you have asked us for and we plan to deliver it once again. We feel our readers and advertising partners will enjoy the enhancements and refocus on our unique communities.”

Wyatt and her husband, Andrew, live in Pickens and have two daughters, Brittany and Jennifer. Wyatt has been a Girl Scout leader for 15 years.
