PICKENS — The Pickens High School athletic department held yet another signing for one of its standout members of the Blue Flame as golfer Morgan Cox put her name to a Letter of Intent to continue her successful high school career at the collegiate level.

With family, friends, staff, faculty and coaches in attendance, Cox made it official by becoming a member of the James Madison University Lady Dukes golf program.

Cox, a member of the Lady Blue Flame golf program for six years, was all smiles when the decision was made final.

Cox, who was flanked by her parents for the signing, said she was sure of her choice.

“When I saw the school I instantly fell in love with the school and the team,” Cox said. “I’m sad that it is over (high school career) but the last six years on the team have been great ones. I am looking forward to being teammates with my sister Madison once again and I look forward to having a successful college career.”

Having been a member of a successful program with many milestones behind her in high school to this point, Cox pointed out winning the South Carolina State Championship for AAA in 2010 and being a member of the Can-Am and Mid-Atlantic Challenge Teams were among her favorites.
