PICKENS COUNTY — A Townville woman, whose body was found on a public dock at a boat ramp, had been shot one time in the head, according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Coroner Gary Duncan said in a release that Farah Reza Khan, 35, of 108 Sue Ella St. in Townville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her autopsy was performed on Monday at GHS.

Duncan ruled the death a homicide.

According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office:

Deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a boat ramp off Buckskin Road at Saluda Lake shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday after a call was received in the 911 Communications Center.

The caller indicated that a female appeared to be injured or perhaps dead on the dock at the boat ramp, located at #322 Buckskin Road.

The caller was one of two men who had gone to the lake to go fishing for the day. According to the incident report, the two men arrived around 8:45 a.m. Sunday to put their boat in when they saw a person on the dock. When they went to see if the person was OK, the woman was unresponsive and there was blood present.

One of the men then called 911.

Deputies located an adult black female, later identified as Khan, on the dock with severe trauma to the head.

No witnesses to the incident have been identified or located at this time. No weapon has been recovered.

Detectives are tracking down Kahn’s activities and locations where she might have been leading up to her death.
