CENTRAL – Grandparents Day at SWU, hosted March 18, will be a time for making family connections while getting a taste of campus life, sharing meals with grandchildren, touring the historic campus and taking in an expert faculty lecture and a musical production.

Grandparents Day will offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy free time together and several activity choices.

Highlights will include a special welcome message from University President Todd Voss and a chapel service for grandparents, students and their special guests.

It’s a day for grandparents to make new memories with family photos, to visit classes and see firsthand their grandchild’s campus home.

They can also take advantage of discounts at Blue Hill Coffee & Tea Co., the University Bookstore, and participate in an informative estate-planning seminar.

Grandparents and their grandchildren can enjoy “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” a student production, at Folger Fine Arts Auditorium. Also, the driving range and putting green will be open for those wishing to hit a few balls.

A complete schedule will soon be posted at swu.edu/grandparentsday. For details about Grandparents Day, contact Ethan Cashwell by emailing ecashwell@swu.edu or by calling (864) 644-5383.
