EASLEY — Shannon Lambert, executive director of the Pickens County Advocacy Center, was recently named the Easley Business and Professional Women’s Tri-County Career Woman of the Year.
The Pickens County Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides services and advocacy for victims of sexual assault and education through community awareness on healthy relationships and violence prevention.
Lambert’s career history is a blend of both social services and higher education administration. Prior to her current position with PCAC, she served at the dean of Academics at ITT Technical Institute, director for the Navy College Program located at NASJRB Fort Worth, and the University of Kentucky.
She earned a master’s degree in education from the University of North Texas and a master’s of science degree in psychology and counseling from Troy State University. She received her bachelor’s degree from Furman University.
She is a member of the Clemson-Calhoun Rotary Club and also participates as an advisor and mentor for Clemson University Kappa Kappa Gamma.
The Easley Business and Professional Women’s Career Woman of the Year program recognizes a woman who has achieved outstanding success in her own career and has made significant contributions to civic and humanitarian or religious activities. This award is open to all women in Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties.
