PICKENS COUNTY — The June 14 Republican Primary in Pickens County has a limited number of races as there are several candidates running unopposed. The following are the ballots for the primary with each precinct/precinct name for reference purposes.
Republican Ballot 1 will be used in polling stations for 101/Stone Church, 102/University, 103/Morrison, 104/Abel, 105/Calhoun, 107/Issaqueena, 110/Pike, and 111/Lawrence Chapel.
There is only one primary race on Ballot 1 between incumbent Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark and challenger Tim Morgan.
Republican Ballots 1 (SC Senate 1) and 2 (SC Senate 2) will be used at 106/Clemson. The race for sheriff between Clark and Morgan and SC Senate District 2 between incumbent Larry Martin and challengers Don Joslyn, Allan Quinn, and Rex Rice will be on those ballots.
Republican Ballot 2 will be used in precincts 108/West Central, 109/North Central, 112 Norris, 113,Six Mile, 114/Six Mile Mountain, 115/Praters Creek, 116/Mountain View, 145/Saluda, 146/Crosswell, 150/Crossroads, 151/Dacusville, 152/Ni9ne Forks, and 153/South Central.
Voters will decide between Clark and Morgan for sheriff and Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice for SC Senate District 2.
Republican Ballot 3 is designated for precincts 117/A. R. Lewis, 118/Holly Springs, 119/Pumpkintown, 120/Griffin, 121/North Pickens, 122/West Pickens, 123/South Pickens, 124/East Pickens, and 154/Crescent Hill.
Voters will consider Clark and Morgan for sheriff, Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice in SC Senate District 2, and County Council District 3 candidates incumbent Randy Crenshaw and challengers Jimmy L. Davis, Wes Hendricks and Alex Saitta.
Ballots 3 (SC House 4) and 4 (SC House 5) will be used in 125/Glassy Mountain. Sheriff candidates Clark and Morgan, SC Senate District 2 candidates Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice, County Council District 3 candidates Crenshaw, Davis, Hendricks, and Saitta, along with State House of Representatives District 5 candidates incumbent Neal Collins and challenger Rick Tate will be considered.
Republican Ballot 5 will be used in precincts 16/Cedar Rock, 144/Rock Springs, 147/Georges Creek, 148/McKissick, 149/Vinland, and 163/Lenhardt.
Voters in these precincts will cast ballots in the races for sheriff between Clark and Morgan, SC Senate District 2 between Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice and between State House of Representatives District 5 candidates Collins and Tate.
Republican Ballot 6 will be used in precincts 127/Skelton, 128/Rices Creek, 129/West Liberty, 130/East Liberty, 134/Arial Mill, and 155/North Liberty.
Voters will be considering candidates for SC Senate District 2 between Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice, sheriff between Clark and Morgan, and County Council District 4 between incumbent G. Neil Smith and challengers Roy Costner, and Keith Culbreath.
Republican Ballots 6 (House 3) and 7 (House 5) will be used in precinct 131/Flat Rock where voters will decide between Smith, Costner, and Culbreath in the race for County Council District 4, Collins and Tate in State House of Representatives District 5, sheriff between Clark and Morgan, and SC Senate District 2 between Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice.
Republican Ballot 7 will be used in precincts 132/Zion, 133/Smith Grove, 156/Pendleton, and 157/Fruit Mountain. The races for County Council District 4 between Smith, Costner, and Culbreath, SC Senate District 2 between Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice, sheriff between Clark and Morgan, and State House of Representatives District 5 between Collins and Tate will be considered.
Republican Ballot 8 will be used 158/Pope Field, 159/Sheffield, and 161/McAlister precincts. SC Senate District 2 candidates Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice, State House of Representatives District 5 between Collins and Tate, sheriff between Clark and Morgan, and County Council District 5 between Mitch Bagwell, Chris Bowers, Robert H. Sams, Harley Staton, and Jeff Willis will be considered by voters.
Republican Ballots 8 (SC House 5) and 9 (SC House 10) will be used in precinct 160/Tri County. Voters will consider races for SC Senate District 2 between Martin, Joslyn, Quinn, and Rice, State House of Representatives District 5 between Collins and Tate, sheriff between Clark and Morgan, and County Council District 5 between Bagwell, Bowers, Sams, Staton, and Willis.
A photo ID will be required to cast a ballot. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
