PICKENS COUNTY — A state inmate being housed at the Pickens County Stockade was reported missing July 11 and is still on the run.

Casey William Gillespie is reported to have escaped custody while working away from the county’s stockade. He was last seen cutting grass at Pickens County’s recycling center on Love and Care Road in Six Mile according to information from the county.

Gillespie was serving a 90-day sentence for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under a suspended license. He was scheduled to be released July 26.

“His supervisor was on the premises and noticed Gillespie was gone,” a statement released by the county late Monday states.

As a result of the escape, Gillespie’s information has been entered into the National Crime Information Center, according to the county and all law enforcement agencies within Pickens County are assisting in locating the escapee.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office at 898-5500.
