4 p.m.: The Canaanaires celebrate their anniversary at Sweet Canaan Baptist Church, 316 Mountain Springs Road in Piedmont. The Gospel Raiders, Saint Luke Supreme Angels, Mighty Gospel Harmonizers and others will be featured.

Oct. 2

3 p.m.: Faith Lutheran Chapel holds a Blessing of the Animals in the parking lot across from Blue Ridge Cooperative.


• The Gary Banks Memorial Youth Choir Reunion is held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 24 and 10:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 25 at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 115 Crescent Hill Drive in Pickens.
