EASLEY — The Easley Lions Club honored Easley Public Works employees with a barbecue lunch at the Red Owens shelter to express gratitude to personnel for their outstanding service in maintaining the quality of life for residents.

Lion Bill Whitlock greeted the guests at the event, which was held April 12.

“We thought of other public servants who also deserve honor, but decided that this time we should remember our Public Works group who too often perform their work beneath the radar of much publicity,” he said.

About 40 Public Works employees expressed their thanks to the local Lions for the good food and good fellowship.
