PICKENS — The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce has named Pickens Savings and Loan as its May Chamber Member of the Month.

“PS&L has the biggest attendance out of our community in local events in our historical downtown, small business grand openings, and chamber events,” said Kim Smagala, executive director of GPCOC. “Supporting your local community is the key to revitalization and Pickens Savings and Loan should be not only applauded for their long time service to the community, but for their obvious inner office environment that fosters just that sentiment.”

Pickens Savings and Loan, originally known as Pickens Building and Loan, was established by charter on May 5, 1920. Pickens Building and Loan first opened its doors in the old SCN Bank Building on Main Street in Pickens.

Led by well-known business leaders in the community, the bank’s original goal was to help local families build their own future through home ownership.

Ninety plus years and a name change later, Pickens Savings and Loan is now located at 205 East Cedar Rock St. in Pickens.

Pickens Savings and Loan is proud of its heritage and of being a locally owned, independent community bank. They understand the community, and they make decisions locally with local interests in mind. Their reputation is built on trust and sound business practices.

As a full service financial institution, they promise to provide quality banking products with outstanding customer service. Go by today and see what makes Pickens Savings and Loan unique.
