EASLEY — The Easley High School wrestling team kicked off the season Monday night hosting Wren and Pendleton.

The team is led by Head Coach Randy Merchant, Asstistant Coach Zack Klebe and six returning Seniors: Craig Barksdale in the 220 lbs. class (4th in State), Bailey Catoe in the 138 lbs. class (State Qualifier), Tyler Catoe in at 113 lbs., Andre Calderon at 126 lbs., Garrett Rookard at 152 lbs. and Eric Henkel in at 132 lbs.

The team took on Pendleton first, landing an impressive 78-6 victory. They continued the night defeating Wren with a final score of 78-6.

The team finished the evening 2-0, a great start this season, Merchant stated.

“They have worked very hard and we are looking forward to another great season,” said Merchant. “They have been in practice mode for so long they were ready to unleash.”
