CENTRAL – The Daniel Lions suffered a disappointing in-region loss against Wren on Friday in a defensive match-up that left the Lions scoreless for three quarters of game play.

Things were looking good for the Lions as Daniel (2-4, 2-1) took the lead with a single touchdown in the first quarter. Unfortunately, it would be the only points they scored all night.

The Lions were coming off a big 37-7 win against Palmetto the week prior and expectations were high this would be the game to turn the Lion’s season around.

Wren (3-3, 2-1) had just lost a home game to the seemingly unstoppable Seneca Bobcats. On Friday, the Hurricanes answered the Daniel touchdown by putting up 14 in the second quarter and ending the half 14-7.

In a purely defensive showdown, each team held the other at bay for the entire second half. The final score was 14-7 with Wren on top.
