PICKENS — Spirits are running high in Pickens as the Blue Flame has been victorious in their last two games. But carrying on that momentum has never been more important as Pickens returns home to play their toughest opponent yet: Seneca.

Seneca (6-0, 3-0) has been tearing through their opponents right and left, most recently with their 69-13 victory over Palmetto. Their offense is putting up an average of 52 points a game while the Bobcat defense has only been allowing an average of 15 points to be scored by the other team.

Two games this year, Easley and Walhalla, have been complete shutouts.

Pickens (3-3, 2-1) is unquestionably the underdog in tonight’s David and Goliath face off. After a rocky start to the season, Coach John Boggs seems to have found his stride.

After last week’s 44-10 on-the-road win over Walhalla preceded by a nice 38-0 shutout against West-Oak, things have been looking up for Blue Flame football.

Pickens’ offense has been averaging 26.1 points a game while the Blue Flame defense has allowed an average of 17 points per game.

While Seneca might seem an intimidating foe, all hope is not lost for Pickens. A solid defensive stand to stop the Bobcat’s high powered offense is a must. Combine that with good fundamentals like avoiding penalties and turnovers and tonight’s game might just surprise a few fans.
