Volleyball Camp

EASLEY — The 2016 Number One Volleyball Camp, directed by former Pickens High School head volleyball coach Peggy Anthony, will be held in June and July at Larry Bagwell Gymnasium and the Pickens Recreation Gymnasium.

Session 1 and Session 2 will be held at Larry Bagwell Gymnasium, 111 Walkers Way in Easley, and Session 3, Session 4 and Session 5 will be held at the Pickens Recreation Gymnasium, 545 Sangamo Road in Pickens.

Session 1, for rising second- through fourth-graders, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 13 through June 16. Session 2, for rising fifth- through eighth-graders, will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 13 through June 16.

Session 3, for rising second- through fourth-graders, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 25 through July 28.

Session 4, for rising fifth- through eighth-graders, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 1 through Aug. 4.

Session 5, for rising seventh- through eighth-graders, will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 1 through Aug. 4

Summer Day Camp 2016

PICKENS – The Pickens Recreation Center is currently taking registrations for Summer Day Camp 2016 sessions, which will be starting in June and run through August.

Camps will be held June 6 through June 10, June 13 through June 17, June 20 through June 24, June 27 through July 1, July 11 through July 15, July 18 through July 22, July 25 through July 29, Aug. 1 through Aug. 5 and Aug. 8 through Aug. 12. No camp will be held during the week of July 4.

All camps will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Pickens Recreation Center, 545 Sangamo Road in Pickens. Camps are for youth ages 6 through 12, or those who have completed 5K kindergarten through rising seventh-graders.

The cost is $70 per child per week and $40 per child for a half week. The price will be adjusted for extra siblings who sign up for the week-long session. A $25 non-refundable registration fee is due by May 20 and includes a camp T-shirt. Late registration will be $35.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided through the S.C. Department of Education Summer Feeding Program. Transportation will not be provided for field trips but on-site activities will be held each week, including sports, movies, water days, games, bike days, arts and crafts and more. Fall football, cheer

PICKENS — The City of Pickens Recreation Department will accept registrations for its fall cheerleading and football seasons through June 8 at the Pickens Recreation Center on Sangamo Road.

Age divisions will include 6 years/up to 100 pounds, 7 and 8 years/up to 100 pounds, 9 and 10 years/up to 135 pounds and 11 and 12 years/up to 150 pounds. In the 11 & 12 year old division, the first 28 youths to register will be taken and a waiting list will be kept.

Cheerleaders must cheer within the same classifications as the football players. The birth date cut off is Sept. 1, 2016. Birth certificates are required at registration.

The registration fee is $45 for in-city residents and $55 for those outside the City of Pickens. The football fee provides a jersey and helmet decals while cheerleaders are provided a clinic and T-shirt.

Football players must provide their own equipment. Cheerleaders will have an additional uniform expense of $98. Call 864-878-2296 for more information.
