Position camps

EASLEY — The Easley Recreation Department are holding position camps for youth ages 8 to 13 who are interested in playing flag football and contact football. The camps continue through July.

The camps will teach kids the basic fundamentals of football by position, increase knowledge of the game, build team unity and teach concepts of the game. The camps are free. Visit www.easleyrec.com for more information and for registration forms.

Day camps

PICKENS — Summer day camps are being held for youth ages 6 to 12 at the Pickens Recreation Center, 545 Sangamo Road.

Remaining one-week sessions are July 6 to July 10, July 13 to July 17, July 20 to July 24, July 27 to July 31, Aug. 3 to Aug. 7 and Aug. 10 to Aug. 14. All sessions will be from 7:30 .m. to 5:30 p.m.

The cost is $70 per child plus late registration will cost an additional $35. The cost will be $40 per child for a half week and the fee will be adjusted for additional siblings for the full week.

Breakfast and lunch will be furnished through the S.C. Department of Education’s Summer Feeding Program. Each week will include on-site activities that will cover sports, movies, water days, games, bike days, arts and crafts and more.

SWU camps

CENTRAL – Southern Wesleyan University is hosting camps or clinics this summer for basketball, soccer and volleyball.

A boys and girls day camp will be held July 20-23. During those same dates a team soccer camp will take place. An overnight soccer camp for ages 12 and up is set for July 12-14. Volleyball will wrap up the summer with their camp July 27-30.

Individual basketball lessons for girls basketball players will also be available throughout the summer by appointment.

Volleyball camp

PICKENS COUNTY — Peggy Anthony, former head volleyball coach at Pickens High, will direct the 2015 Number One Volleyball Camps in Pickens County in July.

Session 4, for rising second to fourth graders, will be from 9 a.m. to noon July 6 through July 9, and Session 5, for rising fifth to eighth graders, will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 6 through July 9. Sessions 4 and 5 will be held at the Pickens Recreation Gymnasium, 545 Sangamo Road in Pickens.
