GREENVILLE — The Green Wave suffered their first shut-out loss on Friday, falling to the Red Raiders 32-0.
Greenville dominated the play clock, controlling the ball nearly a full 10 minutes longer than their opponents and putting points up on the board in every quarter.
Despite 108 penalty yards, the Red Raiders managed 26 first downs throughout the game to Easley’s 7.
The Green Wave loss comes on the heels of a 27-7 win against Seneca — a win players and coaches hoped would signal an upward swing for the remainder of the season.
As it is, Easley drops to .500 with only three games left in the 2017 regular season. With a bye week this Friday, Green Wave players will take the week to work out the kinks in the system before hosting Westside (3-3) on Oct. 6.

Another area team that suffered a loss on Friday was the Powdersville Patriots who after winning three games in a row fell on the road at Pendleton.
The Pats drop to 3-2 with the loss but are looking to getting back to their winning ways with a trip over to Carolina Academy to challenge the 0-6 Trojans on Sept. 29.

One school who wouldn’t let a loss to the Patriots define them is school rival, Wren. The Hurricanes are boasting a 4-1 record as they head into regional play on Friday, beginning with Daniel.
Daniel has lost four straight, with the most recent being the heartbreaking 38-17 loss at Westside on Sept. 15.
The 1-4 Lions will have their hands full when Wren blows into town Sept. 29.
