PICKENS — The Pickens High School Blue Flame had a rough Homecoming game on Friday as they were completely shut down by Seneca 38-0 on Friday but unfortunately for fans, the schedule is not going to get any easier as teams begin wrapping up their season with regional play.
Pickens (1-4) will remain home to host Greenville on Sept. 29 — a team that is lately all about the shut outs, whipping Mann 63-0 on Sept. 15 and Easley 32-0 last Friday.
Greenville is undefeated in the 2017 season and is currently ranked 21 in the state.
But just down the road from Pickens, the city of Liberty is having better luck when it comes to high school football.
The Red Devils are sitting on a respectable 4-2 season so far and spirits are running high following their giant 44-0 win at home against West-Oak.
The Devils are on their way to repeating their 2016 post-season appearence, assuming they can get past Crescent (3-2) on Oct. 6 after their bye week before preparing for the mighty Abbeville (6-0) on Oct. 13 when they will start regional play.
Kick off for Pickens versus Greenville is at 7:30 p.m. at Pickens High School.
