EASLEY — The Easley Green Wave season is slipping away as Easley football drops to 3-5 on the season and 0-2 in the region with the shutout loss against Westside on Oct. 6.

The Rams made two trips to the end zone in the first quarter followed by one more leap across the goal line before the half.

Easley defense kicked it up a notch in the third but another 10 points by Westside in the fourth sealed the deal for the Rams.

The Green Wave will have time to rest and regroup Friday as they enter a bye week before facing 2-6 Woodmont on the road on Oct. 20.

Once again proving they should never be counted as the underdogs, Liberty finds itself as the only team in Pickens County sporting a winning record.

The 5-2 Red Devils are riding high after their 14-7 win over Crescent and are hoping the momentum will carry them through perhaps the toughest game on their schedule: Abbeville.

The Panthers were undefeated prior to last week’s nail-biter loss on the road at Hartville.

Kick off for Liberty versus Abbeville is 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13.
