PICKENS COUNTY — Three individuals have been arrested on numerous charges in conjunction with what the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has dubbed a “crime spree” throughout the Upstate dating from June 7 to June 12.

Michael David Hardison, Matthew Joseph Kelley and Jessica Ann Gillenwater, all from the city of Pickens, were charged by the sheriff’s office for multiple crimes, including two burglaries at local residences, a broken door at a grocery store and stolen vehicles from both Hagood Mill and two area churches.

A third vehicle was broken into at Golden Creek Baptist Church in Liberty and its steering column destroyed.

Hardison, 25, of 155 Windmont Road, was arrested June 16 at a home in Liberty. He remained in jail late Monday.

He was charged with one count each of second-degree burglary, malicious injury to real property, breaking into automobiles and third-degree burglary and two counts each of grand larceny and petit larceny. He was also charged with a probation violation and served with a bench warrant from Family Court.

Bond was set at $7,000 for the burglary charge; $1,000 each for malicious injury to real property and each petit larceny charge; $2,000 for the breaking into automobiles charge; $5,000 for the burglary charge and one grand larceny charge; $3,000 for the second grand larceny charge; and $5,000 for the probation violation. Bond on the bench warrant charge was $5,283.97 cash.

Kelley, 27, of 134 Johnny St., turned himself in June 25 and was charged with three counts of grand larceny, one count of petit larceny and one count of second-degree burglary.

Bond was set at $10,000 on each count of grand larceny, $10,000 on the burglary charge and $2,500 on the petit larceny charge. He remained in jail late Monday.

Gillenwater, 28, of 118 Barnwood Place, also turned herself in June 25. She was charged with grand larceny, petit larceny and second-degree burglary. Bond was set at $10,000 each on the grand larceny and second-degree burglary charges and $2,500 on the petit larceny charge. She remained in jail late Monday.
