PENDLETON — For the second year in a row, the Pendleton Area Business Association and the Town of Pendleton are co-sponsoring Pendleton Celebrates Summer!, a free one-day event that will be staged on the Pendleton Village Green and Exchange Street.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19, rain or shine, and will feature a classic car cruise-in, arts and crafts vendors, continuous musical entertainment, and organized children’s activities.

Food vendors will also be available, and restaurants and merchants around the Square will welcome visitors into their establishments.

Classic car owners in the tri-county area (Anderson, Pickens, Oconee counties) are invited to participate in the festival’s cruise-in, which will be staged on access-controlled Exchange Street.

Participation is free to car owners, but festival organizers ask that owners pre-register, to insure accommodation along Exchange Street. A local DJ will play music from the 50’s and 60’s from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cruise-in registration should be sent to Lou Koppel at lou.artscience@gmail.com or by calling him at 707-326-7169.

Artists and craftspeople will be deployed under tents on the Village Green. Makers of original, locally handmade art and craft objects are invited to submit applications. A fee of $25 will be collected to defray festival publicity costs.
