Southern Wesleyan University student Grant Wood performs first aid on Kaitlyn Dunagan’s “injury” during the Wilderness First Responder course, which took place May 18-22 at SWU in Central. Wood is a current student and Dunagan a recent SWU biology graduate. The 3-semester hour class was open to the public for audit with both options leading to WFR certification. Ernie Dewitt, a professor of Outdoor Leadership and Wilderness Medicine at Toccoa Falls College and an experienced paramedic, was the course’s lead instructor.
