LAURENS COUNTY — The Easley Green Wave should be rested after last week’s bye week and undoubtedly looking to get back to business as they travel to Laurens tonight to take on the Raiders. Kick off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Laurens (1-3) has momentum after their big 35-6 win last Friday against Clinton and has the advantage of playing on their home field. But under Easley’s new Coach John Windham, the Green Wave are so far undefeated on the road and are only looking to improve this season.

Easley (3-1) is still riding the high from their crushing 49-15 defeat of Wren on the road. This week the Green Wave is determined to not only continue their winning ways, but also to score the first conference victory of the season. They are currently ranked at number 45 in the state, the lowest Easley has been listed since 2012 when they topped out at 28. Laurens is ranked 81.

Easley’s only loss of the season was at the hands of the still undefeated Seneca Bobcats.

Statistically, the two teams seem fairly well matched: Easley is scoring an average of 24 points a game to Lauren’s 19 and both team’s defenses have been giving up roughly the same amount of points — 20 for Laurens, 21 for Easley — which suggests that tonight’s game has all the makings to be a close game from start to finish.
