PICKENS COUNTY — The 13th Circuit Alcohol Enforcement Team in conjunction with S.C. Mothers Against Drunk Driving, presented Sen. Larry Martin with the Community Change Agent Award.
This is the first year of the Community Change Agent Award which is presented to someone who displays excellent leadership in making a change within the 13th Circuit, which includes Greenville and Pickens counties.
The decision was made to present Martin with the award based on his continuing efforts within the Alcohol Enforcement Teams as well as his work during the last legislative session.
This work includes Allie’s Law, which would require merchants to take an education course. and a bill that pertains to videotaping of DUI field sobriety tests in court cases. The award was presented at the AET Awards Banquet on Sept. 2.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Martin was unable to attend the banquet. On Sept. 15, Martin was presented with his award at Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County.
