EASLEY — The Easley High School girls tennis team, under the direction of new coach Mark Bishop, has had a busy couple of weeks. The team includes six new players and eight returning players, ranging from grades 7 to 12, and includes six sophomores.

On Tuesday, the team played Greenville High School at home and lost 6-1. Scores were as follows:

Singles

• Layton Powell (GHS) d. Ellis Liddle 6-1, 6-0

• Gracie Walls (GHS) d. Katie Graham 6-1, 6-1

• Emma McFall (GHS) d. Erin Kaisner 6-0, 6-0

• Wesley Cannon (GHS) d. Mallory Galloway 6-1, 6-1;

• Olivia Gross (GHS) d. Meriwether Galloway 6-1, 6-0

Doubles

• Ellis Liddle/Erin Kaisner (EHS) d. Kate Keller/Savannah York 2-6, 6-2, 1-0

• Austn Lucas/Sophie Young (GHS) d. Rosie Edwards/Amanda Hawkins 6-0, 6-0

The team played Westside High School last Thursday at home and won 7-0. Scores were as follows:

Singles

• Katie Graham (EHS) d. Jade Mattison 6-1, 6-1

• Erin Kaisner (EHS) d. Kenley Clark 6-1, 6-1

• Malory Galloway (EHS) d. Suzanne Shabaan 6-0, 6-0

• Meriwether Galloway (EHS) d. Sueymaya Shabaan 6-0, 6-0

Doubles

• Sydney Smith/Rosie Edwards (EHS) d. Jade Mattison/Bailey Dzvonik 6-1, 6-1

The Green Wave took on Greenwood High School on Thursday but scores were not available at press time. Upcoming matches include a home match against Wren High School at 4 p.m. Sept. 28, an away game at Laurens High School at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29 followed by another road game on Oct. 1, this time against TL Hanna High School at 4:30 p.m.

The team will then be home for three straight matches — against Powdersville High School at 4 p.m. Oct. 5, against Hillcrest High School at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 8 against Woodmont High School.

They will close out the season with three away games — against Westside High School at 4:30 p.m. Oct 13, at Wren High School at 4 p.m. Oct. 14 and at Greenville High School at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
