ANDERSON — The Easley Green Wave (3-2, 0-1) under first year head coach John Windham makes a trip to Anderson on Oct. 2 as they face T. L. Hanna (3-2, 1-1) on the road.

Hanna’s Yellow Jackets began the 2015 season by making overtures as an offensive team to be reckoned with following 60 plus points against Wren, which could bode well for Easley. Since the breakout performance against the Golden Hurricane early in the season, the Yellow Jackets have settled on a .500 record and shown weaknesses on the defensive side of the ball.

Easley, expected to be in a rebuilding year with a new coaching staff, has instead shown moments of a bright future during the first half of the season and could use the Oct. 2 match-up with Hanna to build on some early success, but the defense will have to respond and the offense must give their counterparts an opportunity to breathe by keeping the ball out of the Yellow Jackets’ hands.

Including the offensive scoring burst against Wren, the Yellow Jackets come into the game averaging over 46 points per game, a huge figure when compared to another big number, 37, which is what Hanna’s opponents have averaged.

Easley, on the other hand, has had some offensive production issues point wise, scoring only 22 per game. With a head coach who is the former defensive coordinator for Furman University, the expectation would be a strong defense, and Easley is showing just that having given up only a total of 114 points through five games.

Kick off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at T. L Hanna High School in Anderson.
