CENTRAL – A 25-year-old Marietta man was arrested while in the act of breaking into a business on Mauldin Road in Central.

The “Community Action Team” from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a stake-out operation at American House Spinning, 356 Mauldin Road in Central, after several break-ins were reported at the facility. The thefts has included items that contained copper wire.

Around 9:45 p.m. Oct. 15, Jerry Lee Eaton Jr. was arrested after he entered the building using a flashlight. He was wearing gloves and was carrying a large bag containing tools typically used during thefts.

Deputies hidden inside the building immediately took Eaton into custody without any incident.

Eaton was arraigned late Friday afternoon on charges of possession of burglary tools, with bond set at $5,000, and second-degree burglary, with bond set at $10,000.

During his arrest, it was discovered he was wanted on a charge of first-degree domestic violence from an incident in August. Bond on that charge was set at $10,000.
