CLEMSON — The Salvation Army has announced it is opening a new Family Store in Clemson. The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. Friday.

The new Salvation Army Family Store is located at 500-B Old Greenville Highway in Clemson and the community is invited to attend. Grand opening festivities also will be held that night.

Area Commander Major Kent Davis and Lt. Rob Dolby will share why the Family Stores are so important. The Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce will be present for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“We are so happy to be returning to the Clemson area,” said Davis. “Having a Family Store in Clemson gives The Salvation Army the opportunity to connect not only with the local community, but with Clemson students as well. We can’t wait to see how the Family Store will do the most good in this community.”

The Salvation Army Family Stores are a critical part of community. Those who choose to donate and shop at any Salvation Army Family Store are giving straight back to their community. Income raised in the Clemson Family Store goes to support the services provided by The Salvation Army of Pickens County.

Last year more than 850 people were served by The Salvation Army in Pickens County. This includes assistance with food, utilities, housing, clothing, and Christmas toys. The Salvation Army also offers Family Store vouchers to clients in need of clothing.
