SENECA – Duke Energy’s World of Energy at Oconee Nuclear Station is hosting an outdoor concert May 11 on the shores of Lake Keowee featuring the Daniel High School Band.

The concert, which begins at 7 p.m., is free and open to the public.

The band will perform the music of Henry Mancini, John Williams, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine. There’s music for everyone to enjoy.

To add a “cosmic” touch in preparation of the total solar eclipse that occurs Aug. 21, students will also play the symphonic suite from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, and a picnic meal. Oconee Nuclear Station’s United Way Committee will be selling snow cones.

Parking is available at the World of Energy.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at 7 p.m. May 12.
