LIBERTY — Keyshawn King continues to break records in his last track season at Liberty High School.

At the Pickens Country Track meet on March 29, King broke the Pickens County triple jump record of 46’5 with a jump of 51’0.

He also broke the Liberty High School facility record, which he had set earlier this season.

During the meet, King participated in the long jump where he tied the long jump record — which is a standing 22’3. He was selected to the All-Pickens County Track Team.

This past weekend he participated at the Bojangles’ Track and Field Classic in Columbia S.C., where there was over 200 teams and 2,600 athletes competing from 10 States — plus international athletes from Barbados.

King competed against some of the top triple jumpers in the nation.

He clinched the first place title on his last jump attempt of the finals with a jump of 51’4.25. That jump broke the Bojangles’ 20 plus year standing triple jump record and set a new Spring Valley facility record.

At the end of the meet, King was awarded the Most Valuable Horizontal Jumpers Award out of 150 plus long and triple jumpers.

The mark also qualifies King for the U20 Worlds Track and Field Qualifier in Indiana.
