EASLEY — No one was injured in the house fire that broke out in Easley on Thursday, according to the EFD.

According to a release from the Easley Fire Department, on Sept. 12, 2019 at 1:15 a.m. fire crews were dispatched to a structure fire at 307 Jones Avenue within the city limits of Easley.

“The first arriving firefighters observed heavy fire on the front side of the structure and fire suppression began immediately,” officials said. “The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of the first arriving engine.”

Overhaul operations were conducted to ensure all hot spots were extinguished. The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and determined there were no working smoke alarms in the residence, they said.

Reports state the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Easley Police Department along with Easley Fire Origin and Cause team. Other responding units included Easley Combined Utilities to assist with securing the power and Pickens County EMS for medical standby.

No injuries were reported.

“I’m proud of all of our firefighters and the work these professionals do for our community,” said Interim Fire Chief Brad Owen. “I’m proud there were no injuries as a result of this fire. I want to encourage everyone to install working smoke alarms in your homes as smoke alarms save lives.”
