SOUTH CAROLINA — The S.C. Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) is now accepting applications for deer lottery hunts (adult and youth) on public lands through August 15 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
The Multi-site, Unrestricted Multi-site, Webb Gun, Webb Antlerless Only*, Webb Archery, and South Fenwick Archery lotteries operate independently and maintain separate preference points. Youth deer lotteries do not utilize preference points.
The “unrestricted” multi-site lottery application will cover hunting opportunities on Bear Island, Bonneau Ferry, Donnelley, and Ramsey Grove with no antler restrictions at these sites.
The multi-site lottery application includes Belfast WMA, Botany Bay WMA, Coosawhatchie HP/WMA, Hamilton Ridge WMA, Palachoucola WMA, and Wateree River Heritage Preserve. Antler restrictions apply to these locations.
For each deer lottery, applicants may choose up to 15 hunt site selections.
Youth age 10 – 17 are eligible to apply for the Youth Only Deer Hunts. There is no application fee or license required (unless youth are 16 or 17) and these hunts are available at no cost to the participants. Youth who are 16 or 17 years of age are required to have a Junior Sportsman’s License at the time of the hunt.
*Webb Antlerless Only deer hunts. These hunts are 2 1/2 day hunts on the Webb Center Property. Lodging is not provided, but primitive camping is available on Palachoucola or Hamilton Ridge WMAs to drawn applicants and only during their scheduled Webb Antlerless hunt. Hunters may utilize stands already on the property or bring their own. Only antlerless deer are allowed to be taken (tags will be provided). Separate preference points apply.
