SENECA – Duke Energy’s World of Energy at Oconee Nuclear Station recently hosted large crowds of orchid enthusiasts during the eighth annual Blue Ridge Orchid Society show.

Mark Reinke, of Marble Branch Farms in Walhalla, showcased a variety of unique blooming orchids. Reinke is an internationally known orchid hybridizer and grower.

Whether you’re looking to fill an hour or an entire afternoon, Duke Energy’s World of Energy at Oconee Nuclear Station has plenty to keep you entertained and enlightened.

Many guests enjoy starting with the educational exhibits located inside the education center. From there, you can tour the butterfly garden or take a walk along the nature trail. Picnic shelters, located along the beautiful shores of Lake Keowee, are available for those who want to end their visit with an outdoor lunch.

The World of Energy hosts events throughout the year, including concerts, outdoor movies, guest speakers, community forums and much more.
