NINETY SIX — Ninety Six National Historic Site will host 96 Crossroads on April 1 and April 2.

Scheduled activities will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2. The Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Highlights of the event include a variety of programs. Attendees will observe historic weapons demonstrations, and join a ranger for a battlefield tour, or wander through the encampments to discover military and camp life as well as hear from the distaff, or the women and children that followed the troops.

They can also meander among the civilians demonstrating daily lifestyle activities and practicing different crafts and trades.

The Native American program “Touch the Earth” will allow visitors to immerse themselves in Cherokee culture. The Sons of the American Revolution will commemorate the lives lost at Ninety Six with a wreath-laying ceremony. Children’s activities and colonial games will occur throughout the day.

All activities are free to the public. In case of inclement weather, some activities may be cancelled.

Ninety Six National Historic Site is home to battlefields from the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War and much more. The park is located two miles south of Ninety Six on S.C. 248.

Ninety Six National Historic Site is a unit of the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution Parks Group within the National Park Service. The group mission is to protect, preserve, and interpret the significance of the decisive battles where America earned its freedom.
