PICKENS — Pickens area school bus drivers and staff are holding a benefit cookout and yard sale for Freddie and Treasa Norton of Dacusville.
Treasa, known as “Miss Treasa” of Pickens Route 32, is a driver for the Pickens area. Freddie has been a surgical patient in Charleston and has been hospitalized for about two months. Treasa has been at his side helping him to recover and not able to drive much.
Pickens Area Transportation is having a hot dog cookout, bake sale and yard sale on June 3 to benefit the Nortons. It will be held at the Pickens Bus Office, 688 Pumpkintown Highway in Pickens. The bagged lunch will consist of one or two hotdogs, chips and a canned drink for $5.
Miscellaneous items and homemade craft items also will be for sale. Tables will be for rent for $10 for those who want to sell their own items. Call 864-397-1173 to reserve a table/space.
