CLEMSON — The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is offering several events open to the public this summer at no cost! All are welcome to enjoy these free events at the Cheezem Education Center this summer.

Start off the summer by discovering the Greenville Light Opera Works, or GLOW, as they “Question Authority” on Tuesday, July 11 at 10 a.m. GLOW combines opera, operetta, and musical theatre to plant seeds for social change. If GLOW captures your interest, join OLLI later in July for two excursions to GLOW productions of The Crucible and The Gondoliers.

Looking for a great date night or family outing? Join us on Friday, July 14 at 10 a.m. for a sneak peek of the Peace Center’s 2017-2018 Broadway season. Michael Ciaccia, Assistant Box Office Manager at the Peace Center, will be sharing information about this exciting upcoming season of nine unforgettable shows.

Have you ever wondered about the origin of Uber? Join OLLI as we explore the beginnings and controversies of this company as a disruptor in the transportation and tourism industry. Steve Saunders, a real estate broker for more than 25 years, will be sharing his experience as both an Uber rider and Uber driver on Friday, August 4 at 10 a.m.

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie… that’s a solar eclipse? It sure is! Join OLLI in celebrating the Summer of the Eclipse! Stop by Joe’s New York Pizza in Patrick Square for Eclipse Specials beginning at 5:30 p.m. Walk over to the Cheezem Education Center at 7 p.m., where Bill and Marty Bruehl will be hosting the movie screening and discussion of the 80-minute documentary, For All Mankind.

Want to learn more about OLLI? We will be hosting a New and Returning Member Orientation on Thursday, August 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The orientation will allow you to learn how OLLI ticks, meet some new faces, and understand how to become part of your regional lifelong learning program.
