PICKENS — A boater education class taught by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 22 at the Holly Springs Center (formerly Holly Springs Elementary School) at 120 Holly Springs School Road in Pickens.

The class is offered for free, but limited space is available, so visit the SCDNR website or call for your registration.

All resident and non-resident boaters under 16 years of age must successfully complete a boater education course that is approved by SCDNR before operating, without supervision, a personal watercraft (Jet Ski, Sea-Doo, etc.) or a boat powered by a 15-horsepower (or more) motor.
