SWU holds first triathlon camp

CENTRAL – Southern Wesleyan University held its very first Youth Triathlon Camp July 31 through Aug. 3 on its Central campus, introducing youngsters in elementary through middle-school ages to the Triathlon lifestyle.

The campers got a taste of what it means to be a triathlete while going through bicycling and running drills. They also had a day to focus on swimming drills at the nearby Central-Clemson Recreation Center.

The university is also in the early phases of growing its Triathlon team, one of just 13 varsity programs in the nation among NCAA Division 1, 2 and 3. The university is recruiting triathletes and preparing for competition, which will start in September.
