CENTRAL — Three Daniel High School seniors — Ian Ruohoniemi, Benjamin Buck and Manav Jain — have been selected as National Merit semifinalists.

This selection is based on the students’ scores on the PSAT test that is administered by the College Board and co-sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 1.6 million high school students took this test and the top 16,000 were named semifinalists.

The three are now eligible to compete for college scholarships and are also in competition to become National Merit Finalists. The finalists will be announced in February.

The competition is based on a variety of factors, including test scores, performance in advanced courses, teacher recommendations, and community involvement.

D.W. Daniel High School is proud to announce the selection of three seniors as National Merit Semifinalists. Ian Ruohoniemi, Benjamin Buck, and Manav Jain were recently chosen for the honor.
