Powdersville Business Council hosts Pick-Up Powdersville Day

POWDERSVILLE — The Powdersville Business Council, which is facilitated by the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce, hosted its inaugural Pick-Up Powdersville (PUP) Day on Sept. 30.

In partnership with Palmetto Pride and United Way of Anderson County, the PBC conducted the litter pick-up project along a three-mile stretch of S.C. 153.

Approximately 35 volunteers supported the beautification effort and collected 90 bags of trash from the highway roadside and grass median.

Other event sponsors included Anderson County Solid Waste Department, Anderson County Districts 1 and 2 Career & Technology Center, McDonald’s of Powdersville, Powdersville High School, and Walmart of Powdersville.

“What a huge compliment to each of our volunteers who chose to put so much of themselves, their family and their friends into this community,” said Craig Williams, chairman of the PBC Advisory Board.

Established in 2007 by the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce, the Powdersville Business Council serves to promote the well-being of the business, professional and industrial community of the Powdersville area.
