Kamp Kid a success

By: Staff report

EASLEY — Kamp Kid, held annually by the Pickens County Advocacy Center, is an event full of fun, games and learning for the children of Helping Hands and Miracle Hill Group Homes.

For this year, the event theme of “Finding Your Inner Ninja” helped to encourage growth with both fun and educational activities that were provided throughout the day.

Each child was paired with a volunteer “Kounselor” which lead them through the afternoon activities and provided positive mentoring, said Shannon Lambert of the Advocacy Center.

The center expressed appreciation to sponsors Publix Super Markets Charities, Potter’s Clay Fellowship, Clemson-Calhoun Rotary Club, Gamma Sigma Sigma, A Night to Remember Inc and many individual donors that helped to make the event possible.

Pickens County Advocacy Center was established in 1985 as the Rape Crisis Council of Pickens County to provide 24hr crisis intervention and advocacy services for victims of sexual violence.
