OCONEE COUNTY — At 10:40 a.m. on Oct. 25 the Oconee County 911 Center received multiple calls regarding a vehicle accident involving a train and an 18 wheel truck.

Initial fire crews who responded to the scene found the accident at the intersection of Shiloh Road and Wells Highway.

It appeared that the Truck was stopped at the intersection with the trailer remaining across the track, said a OCSO spokesperson. A Norfolk Southern train attempted to stop but did make contact with the trailer, rolling it on its side, they said.

There were no injuries and no release of hazardous materials, authorities said. The truck was transporting materials used to make cement.
