Vacant house destroyed by fire

EASLEY — On Thursday Nov. 9, 2017 at 11:12 p.m. the City of Easley Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire located at 121 Star View Street in the Easley Fire District.

Upon arrival, personnel reported heavy fire conditions through the roof. It took 50 minutes to bring the fire under control and three more hours to completely extinguish the fire.

Three engines from Easley, one from Pickens Rural Fire District (as part of the Pickens County Box Alarm System) and units from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and Pickens County Emergency Services Fire Division assisted at the scene.

The residence was vacant and had no power.

There were no working smoke detectors or fire suppression systems in the residence. The fire is under investigation by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

No one was injured as a result of this fire.
