EASLEY — The Foothills playhouse is getting into the holiday spirit this year with their presentation of “A Seussified Christmas Carol” begining Dec. 8.

The whimsical reinvention of Dickens’ most beloved Christmas story will be performed in wacky rhymed couplets for the audience’s enjoyment, presumably complete with Who Hash and Roast Beast.

“With zoot fruited juices and binka bird geese, from Bed-Headed Fred to Timmy Loo Hoo, this tale of glorious holiday cheer is similar to something Dr. Seuss might have come up with — if he ever had his way with the story …,” reads the playhouse website.

The comedic play was penned by playwright Peter Bloedel and has been produced over 170 times across the U.S. and Canada.

Opening night for the production is 8 p.m. on Dec. 8 followed by performances on Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. and a matinee on Dec. 10 at 3 p.m.

On Dec. 14, the playhouse will hold a special school matinee performance at 9 a.m. Interested parties are asked to contact the box office at 864-855-1817 or email office@fhplayhouse.com for tickets.

Regular showings commence that Friday night with performances on Dec. 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. and on Dec. 17 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are available online or by visiting the playhouse at 201 South 5th Street in Easley.

The play marks the final play production performace of the year for the theater troop although the Easley Community Band Concert will take place in the hall on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.

Come 2018, the Playhouse will continue their Winter season with a production of The Foreigner running on the main stage Feb. 2-11 followed by a “B side” performance of Farndale Avenue … MacBeth on Feb. 23-25.
