LIBERTY — It’s three in a row for Liberty as the Red Devils trounced their latest opponent, Blue Ridge, on the road 38-8.

Things started off slow in the first with both teams squaring off in a defensive showdown that left the scoreboard showing nothing but goose eggs — but if Liberty fans were concerned, Coach Kyle Stewart didn’t let things remain idle for very long.

The Red Devils smacked up 16 points in the second and another 13 in the third. In all, Liberty had managed 29 unanswered points before the Fighting Tigers managed a touchdown in the fourth.

The two point conversion ended up being pointless as Liberty put up another six and closed out the game 35-8.

Liberty (1-3) will travel to Powdersville to take on Robert Mustar’s Patriots on Sept. 15.

The Pats (2-1) are coming off a close 21-17 win over Seneca and are looking to snag their third win in a row.

Kickoff for Liberty at Powdersville is 7:30 p.m.

Over in Central, Daniel Football is continuing to struggle the 2017 season as the Lions have dropped to 1-3 with their crushing 42-23 loss at Greer.

The Lions will stay on the road, traveling to Westside (2-2) in Anderson to take on the Rams.

Kick off for Daniel at Westside is 7:30 p.m.
