EASLEY — The Green Wave had a Homecoming game worth celebrating on Friday when they sent the Wild Cats packing back to Seneca with a 27-7 loss, their first win since beating Daniel in week two.

With the win and now at the halfway point in regular season, Easley is sitting on a 3-2 record and maintaining high hopes for a 5A post-season appearence.

But the real star of the show on Friday was the Green Wave defense — which allowed just seven first downs and one touchdown by their opponents the entire game.

With time of possession heavily skewed in Easley’s favor along with Seneca racking up nearly 80 yards in penalties, the Wild Cats were unable to overcome a scoreless first half and only managed a single trip to the end-zone in the game.

The victory leaves Easley undefeated at home and ranked in at number 56 in the state.

Easley, which incidentally has not won a road game this year, will travel on Friday to Greenville to take on the undefeated (4-0) Red Raiders.

Greenville went just 6-6 last year but things appeared to have turned around for the 2017 season and spirits are definitely running high following a massive 63-0 shutout last week against Mann.
